September 10, 2011 11:00 amtoNovember 6, 2011 4:00 pm

Organized and circulated by the Art Gallery of Windsor
Curated by James Patten

Exhibition opening: Sunday 11 September from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Varley Art Gallery of Markham, Unionville. The artist will be in attendance.

In 2007 Scott Conarroe embarked on a journey across North America to photograph railway infrastructure. Largely empty of trains or people, these contemplative, elegiac photographs evoke a range of responses to what is arguably the defining technology of the modern nation state.
