Welcome to the Varley Art Gallery Of Markham. The Gallery is located on Historic Unionville Main Street and features work by regional and national artists with a special focus on the art of Frederick Horsman Varley (1881-1969), a founding member of the Group of Seven and one of the most celebrated portrait artists in Canada.

The Gallery offers your students a variety of school programs and indoor/outdoor Studio activities for all grade levels, designed to complement and enhance the Ontario School Curriculum for Visual Arts, English, History, Math and Social Studies.

The Varley Art Gallery offers you:

  1. In-House Studio Program
  2. Creative Classroom Outreach Program

Programs are specially designed to encourage creativity and self-expression in your students’ young minds.  As part of our commitment to educators, teachers are always welcome FREE  of charge.  So drop in as often as you would like to enjoy our frequently changing exhibitions.
